Visitor!

There is a new kitty here! Her name is Cammy, and she is here until March 10th since her Momma, Emily is going on vacation to Vancouver.

Isn't she pretty?
She is a maine coon mix, but she is still pretty young, so she isn't huge yet. Her and Samson are about the same age, though Cammy is a little younger. Mommy says that her and Samson should get married since they are both so cute! But don't worry, Sam is neutered of course, and there wouldn't be any babies. But if there were, they would e SUPER cute and VERY fluffy!

This is Cammy as a kitten
Cammy lives in Emily's apartment, and their building is almost right beside ours, so we see Emily lots! Sam has even been over to visit them! Cammy lives with two other Maine Coons. One is named Molson, and even though he isn't related to her, he is like her Daddy. Mommy says that Cammy used to try to nurse from Molson when she was little, and even now they are very very close.

There is baby Cammy with her "Daddy" Molson
Now, I have never met Molson, but Mommy says he is HUGE. She also says he is a very nice boy, and is very sweet. He is not staying with us, since he is very independent and doesn't need nearly as much attention as Cammy does. But Mommy will of course be over to check on him and the other kitty there, as well as Emily's mouse. Emily has ratties too, but they are staying here with Mommy's rats.

Look at silly Molson!

The other Maine Coon that lives with Cammy and Molson is Emily's roommate's cat. Her name is Shinobi. She is very big too, and very mellow and sweet.

Shinobi's belly!
Mommy is happy to have little Cammy visiting. Mommy is very sad today, because one of her ratties died this afternoon. The rat's name was Cinder, and this morning Mommy went to check on them and Cinder was very limp and dehydrated. Mommy ended up staying home sick, which was also good because Cinder was really not doing well. Mommy fed her Ensure to try and hydrate her, and she perked up for awhile and cuddled on Mommy's belly. Mommy had gotten her a last minute V-E-T appointment, and 20 minutes before they had to be there, Cinder suddenly started gasping for breath, and it sounded like her lungs had filled with fluid. Mommy's mother was there to drive them to the V-E-T. and Cinder made it there, but the Docter said that her it looked like her heart had given out. Since Mommy didn't want Cinder to suffer, she had her humanely put to sleep.

Baby Cinder

Cinder was a VERY mischievous ratty, and she would often escape from her cage and get into things. When Mommy still lived with her parents, Cinder even made a nest in Mommy's boxspring and there was all sorts of funny things in it, even a perfect five dollar bill! Mommy will really miss Cinder, and all her antics.

Sweet baby Cinder. She had a little white belly and white "socks"

As if that weren't bad enough, when Emily went to get her rats to bring them over here, she found one of them had died. It's not a good day to be a rat it seems.

Soft Paws

Mommy wants me to ask you all a question: Do any of you kitties wear soft paws on your nails?

If you do not know what soft paws are, here is the website:    http://www.softpaws.com/

Soft paws are like little plastic covers for your claws, to keep kitties from scratching certain things, and it's also an alternative to declawing. As we all know, declawing is BAD!

Well, Samson has been VERY bad about scratching lately. He keeps doing it on the couch, and on the rug, and on Mommy's bed post, and on ME! Mostly the cuts Mommy finds on me are from Sam's teeths, but he does scratch me quite a bit. Mommy is very good about trimming all our nails, but Sam's are just very, very sharp!

Look at all the colours! There are even more than that!

So when Mommy was talking to two friends who were having similar problems, and suggested the soft paws, and then thought "Hey, I should take my own advice and gt some for Samson!". So Mommy looked on the website, but they didn't take paypal, so Mommy found a different website that sold them too (even a little cheaper!) that did take paypal, and ordered them! She got BLUE for Samson, since that would look lovely with his fur, don't you think?

Sam will have pretty paws like this!

Well, Mommy just wanted to know everyone's opinions on them while we wait for them to arrive.

Now if only they made TEETH caps for Sam's pointy daggers of doom!

Samson likes to eat

Samson is a pretty small cat, though he may look bigger in his pictures. But Sam certainly doesn't EAT like a small cat!

One of Sam's favorite things is EATING. He is always the very first to eat when the food is doled out, and he goes back many many times until all the food is gone. He eats the most out of all four of us, but since he is so active and young he is the littlest.

But the way you know eating is one of his most FAVORITE things, is that he even dreams of eating! When he is asleep, you can often see his mouth open over and over, and he smacks and licks his lips. Sometimes he even chews on the blankets. It is really cute! Mommy always smiles when he does that!

Sam and I also often sleep upside down with our tongues sticking out and our eyes partly open. When Mommy first saw me do that, she was terrified that I was dead! But of course, I was just napping! When we do that though, Mommy likes to poke our tongues, but that wakes us up! I know we are cute Mommy, but leave our pink little tongues alone!

Our feeding ritual goes like this: Mommy has two bowls that are connected, until she gets some more food bowls, and when she fills them up, she puts the diet food on the bottom (for me and Lexy) and the normal food on top (for Sam and Baby). We eat Nutrience dry food, and get wet food as a treat, usually fancy feast since someone bought Mommy a huge amount and she wants to use it up before buying more.

As soon as the food is poured out, Sam and Baby are right there. They sit side by side and Sam shoves as much food in his mouth as he can and gobbles until he is stuffed, while Baby daintily munches. When they are done, I go and eat as much as I like, and Lexy usually eats after me.

People are often surprised that Lexy and I eat last, and usually don't want to eat as much, since we are the biggest kitties. Lexy especially looks like she would eat the most, but she has a very ladylike appetite! Mommy still can't figure out how I have a belly at all, since I am so active, and am still a youngish kitty. But I really do have a jelly belly, it swings back and forth when I run!

Well, speaking of running, I really should go chase Samson, so he doesn't get fat from all the food he eats!

Tuesday Toes

Here are Lexy's toes. I think Mommy has posted this picture before, but we just had to post it again for a Tuesday! Lexy is always showing off her toesies. She just LOVES to paw at things, including Mommy! Whenever Lexy thinks Mommy isn't giving her enough attention, like when Mommy is sleeping, Lexy will go "poke poke" on Mommy's face. She pokes whenever she wants something. And as long as Mommy keeps up with her nail trims, it's super cute! Are any of you kitties pokey too?

I need to have a talk with Samson

It has come to my attention that Samson needs a stern talking to. He is getting just a LITTLE too big for his britches. He is acting like HE is in charge of ME! But I know that is not true, since I am older, and bigger, and I have been here longer!

Listen to this evidence, it proves he thinks he is in charge of me!

a) When we are having wrestlings, Sam pushes ME on my back, and bites me REALLY hard. And he has super sharp baby kitty teeth still! And also super sharp claws! He always bites my shoulders and my neck too! It HURTS! I tell him to stop, and growl and cry at him to let go, but he won't! Mommy even has to come over and pry him off my neck! She finds little cuts on my neck too. And once Sam gets into a wrestling mood, he doesn't want to stop! He always has to be the winner, or else he won't leave me alone!

b) I sleep on Mommy's tummy every night. That is MY spot! Sam sleeps at the end of the bed! But twice this morning, and once last night, when I went to go pee, or have a drink, as soon as I got back, there is Sam, in MY spot! I asked him nicely to move, and he ignored me. I poked him and asked a little LESS nicely, but he just looked at me innocently and didn't move! So what choice did I have? I flopped on top of him! And THAT finally worked! He better not keep this up!

c) Samson has been playing with MY favorite toys! Yesterday he was playing with "the tail" and wouldn't let me steal it from him!

d) When Mommy gave us our treats and catnips tonight, he TRIED TO EAT MY TREATS! And that is the LAST straw!

Tonight, when he is all stretched out asleep, and least expects it, BAM! I am going to whap him in the face and put the bitey on him!

Well.. maybe after I am finished rolling in and eating and licking this catnip...and after that I might need a nap...maybe that smackdown and lecture will have to wait until tomorrow....

Happy Valentines Day Efurryone!

Sorry it's a day late!
I hope you all had a LOVE-ly day with your beans and Mommies and Daddies and Peoples!

We had a nice day! Well, most of us did. Lexy had a stressful day, but I will let her tell you about it in a bit.

On Valentines morning, we had our usually snuggles with Mommy, and got belly rubs, scritches, and kisses.
Then Chris gave us all some fancy feast, and Mommy gave us Greenies. I LOVE Greenies, and we all like fancy feast, but I think it upset our tummies a little bit since my poops today are bad enough to burn off my nose hairs!
After our snacks, Mommy brushed Lexy, and got out the Carrier of Doom. But now, I will let Lexy tell you all about her day.

Lexy: Hello! I sure feel special, since Monty hasn't let ANYONE but him blog on here yet! Not even Mommy!

Yesterday was a scary day for me, because I went to the Animal Love Adopt-a-thon! I had a feeling something was up last night when foster Mommy was giving me extra cuddles and attention. She also brushed me for over half an hour! I LOVE to be brushed, so I was super happy! Then she clipped my claws, which I don't like very much. The brushing helped make up for it though.

Anyways, after I ate my fill of fancy feast, and got my greenies, and got brushed some more, I saw foster Mommy go into the big closet where she stores things, and got out what Monty calls the Carrier of Doom! I thought maybe she was taking Sam or Monty somewhere, since she hasn't taken me out since I got here last May! Boy was I surprised when she picked up ME!

I REALLY didn't want to go in there, but Mommy persisted, and I was stuck in there! I did my saddest little mews and gave her my sad eyes but she STILL didn't let me out! Then I was taken out of the appartment, and down what Mommy called the elly-vador, and then out to the COLD!

Okay, I was only outside for about 2 seconds until we were in her mother's moving metal room, but it was FREEZING! Then the moving metal room took me on a long ride, and I mewed and mewed all the way there! When we got where we were going, I remembered being there, and got even MORE scared! We were at the place with the cages, the one Mommy calls Petsmart. I was kept there before I came to foster Mommy's and I still remember it very well. Foster Mommy petted me though and told me it was just for today, and that I would either come home with her, or go to a new furrever home!

Well, that made me feel a LITTLE better, but I still hated being put in one of those same cages, and it wasn't even one of the cages in the small quiet room full of kitties, it was right out in the middle of the store! Mommy said that was so everyone could see us, and think about adopting us, but it sure was loud! And there were DOGS!

Well, foster Mommy stayed at the petstore to help the other volunteers. Every once in awhile she would come see me and tell me that I was being good. Everytime she came over I would tell her I wanted to go home NOW, but she said I had to wait.

Lots of people came to look at me and the other kitties, and there were two doggies there for adoption too, a little border collie puppy, and a big shepard mix. The puppy, Bailey, didn't scare me much, but the sheppard did! Apparently the shepard REALLY likes cats, but I didn't want to be her friend! Bailey was lucky and someone wants to adopt her, but had to talk to her husband first! I sure hope she DID get adopted!

I was lucky, my cage faced towards the back to the store, so it was a little quieter. People still looked at me though! I did my cutest looks, and squeaked at them, and tried to tell them to take me home. The kitty in the cage next to me, Erik, was lucky and got adopted, and a woman and her daughter looked at me, and really liked me, but they had to think about it and went home. Another man said he really wanted a girl kitty, but he wanted to make sure that he wouldn't have to go away for work for a long time so that he would have lots of time to bond with a kitty. He went home too, but maybe he will remember me when he has time home and can adopt a kitty!

Well, it felt like I was there FOREVER, even though it was only 4 hours, but at the end, I was happy to go home! I WASN'T happy to go back in the Carrier of Doom though, and when foster Mommy tried to put me back in there, I knocked over the litter box mwahahaha.

After I was back in the CoD, foster Mommy and I were waiting for her mother to come get us to go home, when a very nice girl and her boyfriend came to look at kitties. She really wanted to adopt a cat, but she has a guinea pig, and a bunny, and wanted a kitty who would get along with them. Mommy jumped right up to let them know that I am good with small animals. I like the rats, and even though I don't like the bunnies, I just hide from them, I don't chase them or anything. The girl was really happy about that, and foster Mommy even opened the CoD to let her see me and pet me. She really liked me, but wanted to go home and think about it, so Mommy told her if she was still interested in me, to contact Animal Love.

After that, foster Mommy's Mother came to take us home, and help Mommy carry all the cat food and litter, and things that she bought up to the apartment.

I really hope someone remembers me when they decide to adopt a kitty! I DO love it here with Foster Mommy, and would like to stay here furrever, but I know that I can't.

If you know ANYONE around London Ontario, or even Toronto who would like to adopt a nice squeaky cow girl like me, let Mommy know! I REALLY need a furrever home!

Monty: Okay Lexy, you had enough time now! Look how much you wrote! You better not take over my blog!

While Lexy and Mommy were at the scary place, Samson and I had naps, and groomed eachother, and of course played! Then Mommy came home with Lexy, and a surprise for us!

She got us a toy for valentines day! It's called a Fling-a-ma-String! Mommy and I had seen it and heard about it on some of you other kitties blogs, and it looked like a lot of fun! So when Mommy saw it, she just HAD to get it for us!

She got it all set up, and let us go wild! I like it lots, but I don't like that I can't just grab the string and run away with it. Lexy sure loves it though!

Lexy: I sure do! It ALMOST made up for being a cage all day!

Monty: Hey! What did I say about taking over my blog!

Lexy: Sorry...But I DO love it! Even Baby gets in on the action!

Monty: Well, that was how our Valentines day went! I hope you other kitties got treats and lovin's and cuddles, and even toys too! Hopefully soon there will be more pictures to put up here!

And for all the other readers in Ontario, Happy Family day!

Not My Fault

You know, it's not my fault that Mommy was asleep.

It's not my fault that she almost had a mini heart attack when she woke up to me streaking into the room and under the bed wearing a plastic bag like a cape!

I was just busy playing in it, and it got on me, and I liked how noisy and crinkly it was when I ran! Chris saw and tried to take it OFF me, but of course I didn't want that!

So of course I ran to hide under Mommy's bed! Not MY fault she is a light sleeper...

Don't worry, her heart didn't REALLY explode from being surprised awake at my noises.

Also, Today was the sooper bowl! We didn't watch though, we watched the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet, and it was WAY better! Those puppies sure were cute!

I hope you all had a good weekend!
